Chattogram, 23 December 2024:
The Bangladesh Naval Academy celebrated the Winter President’s Parade for the Midshipman 2022A Batch and Direct Entry Officer 2024B Batch today. The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, graced the occasion as the chief guest, inspecting the parade and receiving salutes from the newly commissioned officers.
A total of 42 officers, including 34 Midshipmen and 8 Direct Entry Officers, officially joined the Navy. Among them, seven were female officers, marking another significant step toward inclusivity in the naval force.

During the ceremony, Admiral Nazmul Hassan presented medals to top-performing officers. Midshipman Touhidur Rahman Joy (Executive Branch) earned the prestigious Sword of Honour for excelling in all aspects of training. Midshipman Nasif Alvee Haque (Executive Branch) was awarded the Chief of Naval Staff Gold Medal, and Acting Lieutenant Md. Hasnat Ullah (Education Branch) received the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Ruhul Amin Gold Medal for their outstanding achievements.

In his address, the Navy Chief paid tribute to the valiant freedom fighters and naval commandos who made the ultimate sacrifice during Bangladesh’s Liberation War. Highlighting the Navy’s vital role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime resources and advancing the blue economy, he emphasized the importance of technological advancement and professional excellence.
The Chief of Naval Staff also commended the Navy’s contributions to disaster relief, maritime security, and national development initiatives. He encouraged the newly commissioned officers to uphold their training, embrace modern technologies, and dedicate themselves to national service.
The parade concluded with the oath-taking ceremony of the new officers, witnessed by senior officials from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as proud families and distinguished guests.
This event underscores the Bangladesh Navy’s commitment to building a capable, inclusive, and future-ready force.
