Bangladesh Navy Ship BNS Somudra Joy Departs for International Fleet Review

Dhaka, 26 January 2025: The Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Somudra Joy departed from Chattogram Naval Jetty today to participate in “Exercise AMAN-2025” scheduled from 7–11 February 2025 in Karachi, Pakistan.

The departure ceremony was marked by a traditional naval band performance, attended by senior naval officers, crew families, and Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali, Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, who delivered guiding remarks.

Led by Captain Md Shahriar Alam, the delegation includes 33 officers, 58 trainee officers, and 274 naval personnel. Alongside participation in Exercise AMAN-2025, BNS Somudra Joy will conduct goodwill visits to Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Malé, Maldives, strengthening diplomatic ties and professional collaboration.

This participation underscores Bangladesh Navy’s commitment to fostering regional solidarity and maritime security while advancing its global professional standards and enhancing Bangladesh’s reputation worldwide.
