22nd Council Meeting of MIST Held on January 27, 2025

The 22nd meeting of the Council of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), the institute’s supreme policy-making body, took place on January 27, 2025, at the MIST premises. The meeting was chaired by Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud, with the Chiefs of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force serving as vice-chairpersons. Other dignitaries included representatives from the Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Defense, and other prestigious institutions.

In his opening speech, the Education Advisor paid homage to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and other movements, including those associated with MIST. He emphasized the importance of aligning education and research with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), advocating for advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and innovation.

The meeting highlighted MIST’s ongoing plans and achievements, including the expansion of engineering programs, introducing a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, establishing a Biomedical Research and Innovation Center (BRIC), and forming an Engineering Cell for advanced research. Discussions also focused on enhancing MIST’s international ranking by launching new faculties and programs.

The Chiefs of the Armed Forces acknowledged MIST’s contribution to technical education, modern defense training, and its growing role in both national and global contexts. They expressed their commitment to maintaining the institute’s upward trajectory in education and research.

Commandant Major General Nasim Parvez presented an overview of MIST’s accomplishments and challenges, extending gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions. The meeting concluded with the Education Advisor reiterating the importance of the resolutions passed, expressing optimism about MIST’s future, and its role in shaping technologically proficient professionals.
